Turning Four!!

I have the joy of being the parent to an amazing and wonderful little guy who turns four on St. Patrick's Day!!! He received a package from his very awesome Aunt Angie and Uncle Josh for his birthday!! She is quite the little craftier and has a really amazing blog too!! You really have to check her and all of they really cool things she makes at http://www.angelinaladawn.blogspot.com/!! Here are some pics of what she made and sent, including the really coll Yo Gabba Gabba hat he is wearing!! She actually hand folded all of the stars and made him really cool cards with activities to do with his parents!! Isn't she the best?!!! We love her and so will you, so check out her blog...

Capulin Volcano

Did you know that there is a volcano in New Mexico? There is!! My family and I went for a drive on Sunday and happened to fin Capulin Volcano. It is a really cool place to visit and only will cost you $5.00 per car to drive to the top. It is a nail biting journey, and boy, is it well worth it! The views from above are quite breathtaking and you can even take a brief walk down into the vent or hike along the top of the rim. Truly it was one of the most adventurous trips we have taken by a long shot. I got this pic off of www.tripadvisor.com  to show you what it looks like. I would have used my own pictures but I left the camera at home and my phone died just as we got there. Go figure, find a volcano in New Mexico and find yourself without a way to take pictures!! Only me. Yhe staff at the visitor center are quite lovely, very informative and do no look at you like you are stupid when you check to make sure that it is inactive..just to be sure!!

Raton

Upon entering Raton off of the first hwy exit, you begin to get a sense that you just might have taken the wrong way... But to my surprise as we turned around the bend we found ourselves staring at Main Street (actually called 2nd) completely abandoned on a sunny Sunday afternoon by all of it's inhabitants alone in its glory for all to behold in quiet solitude, until the three year old wakes up anyway!!
Named Raton formally in 1800, this quiet little 1950's postcard I call home is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains a noteworthy stop along the Sante Fe Trail full of adventure and rich with history!! Welcome to Raton!!
